The Glenn Miller Orchestra
Friday, February 29, 2008
Woodrow Wilson Auditorium – 7:30 pm
Still considered the greatest band of all time, the Glenn Miller Orchestra's
unique sound is loved by almost everybody who cares for dance music.
Although Glenn Miller died tragically in a plane crash while on tour
with his Army Air Force Band, the legend and the music live on. The
Glenn Miller Orchestra is the most sought after big band in the world
today for both concert and dance engagements. The 19 member band continues
to play many of the original Miller arrangements as well as more modern
selections in the big band style that limit themselves naturally to
the Miller style and sound.

The Freddy Cole Quartet
Friday, March 28, 2008
Woodrow Wilson Auditorium – 7:30 pm
Although often compared with older brother Nat “King”
Cole, Freddy Cole has made his own way in the jazz world and become
an international favorite. He plays piano, sings and performs with
guitar and upright bass, just like Nat. His vocals - swap, elegant,
formidable and articulate - are among the most respected in Jazz.
Cole's career continues to ascend as he has moved into the front rank
of America's home-grown art form with a style and sophistication all
his own.
